The Lazette Sets out to Dominate the World

Voluntary and regular members of The Lazette, along with members of Club Rhetorique and SACB will compete in the first-ever Manila Round of the World Scholar’s Cup on July 9 and 10 at Xavier School in San Juan.

Teams of three members each battle it out in Team Debate, Scholar’s Bowl,  Collaborative Writing and Scholar’s Challenge in the two-day event. This pre-qualifying round will have the winners proceed to the Tournament of Champions at Yale University, Connecticut in November.WSC Logo JPG.jpg

Started first in South Korea back in 2007, the World Scholar’s Cup was then only a regional tournament that eventually brought in participants from the USA, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Korea.  Armed with the vision for students to realize new strengths and skills, and to create “a community of future scholars and leaders”, the World Scholar’s Cup has brought in students from all over the globe. Now in its 11th year, the Philippines joins for the first time.
